"As a child, I lived with my grandmother. She taught me about what was in my path. Through out my life she told me "Be Yourself" and "It's Up to You". I was raised on the south rim (Tsegi) and other sites around Canyon De Chelly. My grandmother raised sheep and I used to herd the sheep with her to the different camps for spring, summer, fall and winter. We spent the summers deep inside the canyon on the floor of Canyon De Chelly with the sheep. Here she would tell me stories about the canyon, the ancient ones, the Navajo beings and creation. She instructed me in the Navajo way of life. "
